Karamel (카라 <kara> sweet melodies + mel = to form an ever sweet sound) is a female-only Filipino mangaka group.

History

We got together as friends this year 2008 while training to become artists of tomorrow. We have one writer and two artists. This just sort of happened out of the blue...

the 1/2 artist who is in charge of the comedy scenes in the manga

Neko
the 1/2 artist who is in charge of the cool drawing and inking. She likes doing the romantic and drama scenes.

Muji
Yes, Muji in my point of view is the EMOTION of the group. We tend to tease her about her reactions and her being the Childish one even though I am the youngest of us 3. Like what she said, she's the DIRECTOR of Comedy. I have given her that task. Muji also insist that she's the younger one and I'm the oldest.. though that is negotiable.

Neko
She is the mediator of the group. She is so flexible that she can meet my tantrums and muji's childish acts. She gives me a lot of ideas when it comes to DRAMA and Romantic Scenes. If Muji is the EMOTION of the group, (her.) is the artist of EMOTION.

Aya
To be honest, I am the LAZIEST member of the group because all I did is to conceptualize and after the ideas, I sleep all of the sudden. I also happen to be the "Manager" of the group because I boss around the artists but that's just for fun and to make the manga-making an interesting memory for us. The youngest and yet treated as the eldest one in the group.

In my point of view i think she's the most mature among us. (?)<- (not sure...) All was said, yeah Aya- chan is the almighty conceptualizer of the group... typical stuff like think, write, think, write, and writes some more then thinks harder until... then falls asleep...

Muji
What can I say? Kudos to my other half complete opposite! I pull heartstrings while she makes your tummy hurt so bad. Muji-chan fills the gaps that I have when it comes to comedy. Much of being a child, she's the radiance of the group and I'm very thankful of that.

Neko
Hi! It's finally me Neko. First thing is what I do: inking and directing drama/romantic scenes. Actually, I'm no romantic and it makes my role in the group such a paradox... I sometimes don't get it why I like serious scenes i just do. Second is about me: I can work for hours and quickly learn things. Last is I'm very much in love with details. Um.. so that's it!
